Vibrant Super Green, Superfood Smoothie

Simple green smoothies an easy way to start a day, or an amazing afternoon snack. The apple gives it just a little bit of sweetness and the avocado makes this smoothie so creamy and delicious, you’ll love it. Adding turmeric and ginger adds some fire to the belly along with a million other benefits.

Today we hero the ingredient turmeric. Here are a few reasons why: 

  • It's a natural anti-inflammatory

  • It increases the antioxidant capacity of the body

  • It contains curcumin - which has been linked to improved brain function. Fun fact (and I'm aware this is perspective based), curcumin is fat soluble so having it alongside ingredients high in fat *thanks avo 🥑* and a crack of black pepper increase absorption into the bloodstream

Ingredients (serves 2):

  • 1 apple

  • 3 large handfuls of leafy greens

  • 2 inches ginger

  • 1 tsp tumeric

  • 1/2 cucumber

  • 1/2 avocado

  • 1 tbspn flax seeds

  • Lots of ice

Method:

  1. Blend. Blend. Blend.

  2. Crack a little bit of black pepper into your smoothie (if that’s your thing)

  3. Once it’s smooth, pour out into glasses and enjoy!
