Salted Almond and Date Caramel (Vegan)

If we were to ever imagine what crack would taste like, this would be it.

Salted almond butter and dates blend together to make a deliciously, naturally sweet caramel with just the right amount of salt.

No sugar, no butter, no double cream. Just using what Mother Nature gave us and blending it up to make the best caramel spread you've ever had.

Some call it witchcraft. Some call it magic. We'll let you decide. ✨

This is a naughty (but not actually naughty) little number and can be eaten with just about anything. Spread it on toast, drizzle it on top of pancakes, use it as a topping on a raw cheesecake, or just eat it straight out of the jar with a big spoon (our personal favourite). It comes with a side warning: you might have to ask a loved one to hide it from you in between uses.

With only five ingredients it really is a breeze to make. A worthy investment for the return on happiness this spread gives you ;).

  • 2 cups dates

  • 1/4 cup roasted almond butter

  • 1/4 cup almond milk

  • 1 tsp raw vanilla powder (sub vanilla essence)

  • 1 tsp salt

  1. Soak the dates in warm water for 15 minutes.

  2. Drain the dates and pop them in the food processor or high speed blender.

  3. Process the dates for a few minutes until a paste forms.

  4. Add in the almond butter, almond milk, and salt to the food processor. Then blend, blend, blend until smooth. (Make sure you regularly scrape down the sides during the blending process)

  5. Voila! You now have a delicious caramel spread. Bottle it up and store in the fridge for up to a week.
