Chocolate Vegan Tart

Definitely decadent.

Definitely delicious.

Definitely the best chocolate tart you’ve had. Vegan or not.

It’s silky and smooth in texture. Rich in taste. And it’s really easy to make (just the way we like things).

Taking about 30 minutes and less than 10 ingredients, you can finally be the master chef you always dreamed of. Or at least pretend to be for a dinner party.

Ingredients:

Base

  • 300g almonds flour

  • ½ cup cacao powder 

  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

  • 3 tbsp coconut oil

  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Chocolate filling

  • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk

  • 250g dark chocolate, chopped

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Toppings

  • Fresh fruit

  • Coconut flakes

  • Sea salt flakes

Method:

  1. In a food processor, add all the base ingredients until the mixture comes together. Press the base into a tart tin (9 inch) and press down, making sure to get into all the ridges. Place the tin in the freezer whilst you prepare the filling.

  2. Place your chopped chocolate in a large bowl.

  3. Warm the coconut milk on the hob over a medium heat. Once it’s warmed through (almost to the boil) pour it over the chocolate adding the vanilla extract and sea salt and stirring it all together until a smooth mixture is formed.

  4. Take the tin out of the freezer and pour the mixture into the base and smooth over the top. Place it into the fridge for 2-4 hours to firm up.

  5. Once firm, take out of the fridge and top with your toppings of choice!
